Press Release: Robert Sterling Music Places "One Groove," and "Why Don't We" in "Forgetting, Sarah Marshall."
Dateline-Hawaii: April 10, 2008:
For many years it has been quite challenging and difficult for the Hawaiian Island recording artist to get their music further promoted and marketed outside of Hawaii and into the mainstream of the mainland. The mere thought of having an original music track placed into a major motion picture is more of a dream than a reality...it's a long shot!
But in the music industry, "Dreams Can Come True" and this time it happened for the group, One Groove and Pati.
Robert Sterling Music Publishing, Hawaii's fastest growing Island Music Publisher is proud to announce the placement of the titles, "One Groove" by the group One Groove and "Why Don't We" by Pati in the recent Universal Motion Pictures release, "Forgetting, Sarah Marshall," directed by Nicholas Stoller. ("40 Year Old Virgin," "Superbad," "Pineapple Express" and "Knocked Up")
The movie's sound track contains about ten musical titles from Hawaii featuring premiere recording artists including Iz Kamakawiwo'ole, The Cazimero Brothers, Daniel Ho and Martin Pahinui...What makes One Groove's and Pati's music so special and so groundbreaking is that their titles, "One Groove," and "Why Don't We" are the only Island titles licensed (by Universal) from Hawaii that were written, composed, and performed by the same recording artist. Congratulations are in order for One Groove and Pati!
"One Groove" maintains a healthy 1:42 second segment in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and is placed during one of the more climatic scenes in the movie; whereas "Why Don't We" runs in the film for 1:32. This is great news for Hawaii because for so many years Island Contemporary music from the state was more popularized through cover tunes rather than original compositions. "We like to think that we are making a difference here in Hawaii by giving a signature towards originality by encouraging our artists and clients to compose music in addition to recording it," quotes Robert Sterling Music's President, Bobby Pileggi.
All in all it's a great day in Hawaii Nei for One Groove and Pati who "With A Little Help From Their Friends" on Molokai made their dreams come true by placing one of their songs in the movies. "This is just the beginning of the future for Hawaii's Island Music and major motion pictures and I just can't wait until tomorrow to see what the next title that we place will be," concludes Pileggi as he proudly salutes his catalogue of gifted and talented songwriters from the islands of Hawaii!"
